Afro-Cuban afternoon; Dancefloor Jazz early evening; Soul & Jazz influenced Dance Music into the night is the order of events at the next Counting Blessings All-Dayer at the Wiper and True Taproom, Old Market.
Featuring boosted sound from Amber Audio, we’ll be kicking off with Rafi lighting up the taproomwith Afro-Cuban vibes, turning up the heat as special guest Nick Schlittner follows with a special alllatin set - expect Mambo! Descarga! Salsa Dura!
430-8pm we move into the infectious and joyful sounds of Dancefloor Jazz, Jazz-Funk & Boogiecourtesy of local dancing legend Everton Young, followed by a repeat appearance of guest NickSchlittner, travelling down from one of the UK’s most popping Dancefloor Jazz events in the country right now, Come Sunday in Birmingham.
8pm-11pm we take it a touch harder, keeping that Jazz essence but notching up the bass a little as we move through Broken Beat, Jazzy & Souful House & Garage & Dance music that you cannot help but move to, thanks to a 3 hour b2b session from Kat CW (Brakery/Analogue Lounge), Katie Novo (Counting Blessings founder) and the one and only Angel Mel. This event is for everyone, music lovers, experience dancers and those brand new who’d like to try it out alike. If you want to learn a few moves, there’s always a friendly face very up for hleping.

Kat CW
A member of The Brakery and founder of Analogue Lounge, her selections span funk, jazz, and house with a focus on soulful, percussive tracks made for the dancefloor.
Everton Young
A jazz dancer of 30+ years, Everton brings dancer’s insight and deep knowledge to the decks. Expect “real jazz for folks that feel jazz” — selections honed at Jazz Quarterly and Out To Lunch.
Katie Novo
The Counting Blessings founder is an avid collector of all things ajzz and soul influenced and particularly Broken Beat: she has played at festivals like Love Saves The Day, We Out Here and Forwards, at venues including London’s BBE Store, Lost Horizon, Love Inn and many more.
