August Update
At the beginning of this year we kicked off our Charity Partners programme; a simple fundraising scheme, for organisations close to our hearts. Different members of the Wiper and True team chose local causes to support each month, and with your support, we raise as much cash as possible to support their work.
In August, we supported Off The Record. We’re so pleased to announce that we raised £519.71 to support their work in bettering the mental health of 18-25-year-olds in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Thank you to each of you who donated directly, ordered from our online shop when we were donating on your behalf or choose Karma Keg at one of our taprooms.
September Charity Partner: Motivation
This month, Wiper and True are raising money for Motivation.
Motivation is a global disability charity and social enterprise that provide wheelchairs for disabled people in India, Malawai, Uganda and Kenya. The wheelchairs are designed to deal with rough terrain and rural environments that are often found in the countries they service. They also promote the importance of making sure each wheelchair is fitted by a trained professional to World Health Organization standards. Through their wheelchairs, services and training projects, they’ve been changing the lives of disabled people in India, Malawai, Uganda and Kenya for over thirty years. How does the Wiper and True Charity Partner programme work?
Each month, the Wiper and True team choose a charity to partner with. All of our fundraising efforts that month will raise money for this charity or cause.
How do you raise money for the charities?
Each month we will be raising money by three methods:
- We donate: we will donate £1 from every order on our online shop for a certain time period in a month - usually a week or weekend at a time. This doesn't cost you anything extra - we make the donation on your behalf. We will let you know when this is happening each month, via our social media channels.
- Karma Keg: each month at our Bristol Taprooms we will choose a designated 'Karma Keg'. Usually an exciting new release, we'll donate 100% of the profits from this keg to our chosen charity. We will mark the chosen Karma Keg clearly on our beer menus. All you have to do is order a pint!
- You donate: you may have noticed the option to add an additional charity donation when checking out an order on our online shop. We'll collect these additional donations for our chosen charity for a whole month, then make a lump sum donation at the end of the month.
