June Charity Partner: AidBox Community, A Bristol-Based Humanitarian Support Organisation

Charity & Fundraising

May Update

In 2022, Wiper and True launched our Charity Partners scheme; a simple way to fundraise for local organisations close to our hearts. Our team selected causes to support, and we asked for your help in raising as much money as we can each month.

Since its inception in January this year, we've had an amazing response to the project, raising money for Bristol Refugee Rights, the MAZI Project, Marmalade Trust and more. In May, we raised £180.79 for Bristol-based loneliness charity Marmalade Trust. From us and the Marmalade Trust team, a huge thank you to every single person who helped raise this sum.

June Charity Partner: Aid Box Community

This month, Wiper and True are proud to be supporting Aid Box Community. Founded in 2015, Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol-based humanitarian organisation set up in response to the continuing refugee crisis. Initially founded to deliver essential items to those stranded in refugee camps in Dunkirk, the ABC team now focus on alleviating the poverty, isolation and trauma that many displaced individuals experience once they reach the UK. Over the last few years, ABC have provided support, supplies and sanctuary to hundreds refugees and asylum seekers in Bristol, through a free shop that stocks necessary basics, a welcome hub, and ongoing community and connection groups and activities.

Wiper and True are really proud to be supporting the Aid Box Community team this month, and we need your help to raise as much money as possible for their brilliant work.

How does the Wiper and True Charity Partner programme work?

Each month, the Wiper and True team choose a charity to partner with. All of our fundraising efforts that month will raise money for this charity or cause.

How do you raise money for the charities?

Each month we will be raising money by three methods:

  1. We donate: we will donate £1 from every order on our online shop for a certain time period in a month - usually a week or weekend at a time. This doesn't cost you anything extra - we make the donation on your behalf. We will let you know when this is happening each month, via our social media channels.

  2. Karma Keg: each month at our Bristol Taproom we will choose a designated 'Karma Keg'. Usually an exciting new release, we'll donate 100% of the profits from this keg to our chosen charity. We will mark the chosen Karma Keg clearly on our beer menus. All you have to do is order a pint!

  3. You donate: you may have noticed the option to add an additional charity donation when checking out an order on our online shop. We'll collect these additional donations for our chosen charity for a whole month, then make a lump sum donation at the end of the month.

We hope some of you will join us at the Taproom throughout the month to help us drain our AidBox Community Karma Keg dry. This month's Karma Keg is Sunny Spells; a zingy, light 3.2% Citrus Session Sour.

Throughout June we'll be collecting essential items for AidBox Community to distribute to those in need. Please bring any of the following down to our St Werburghs Taproom, where we'll collect and pass along to the charity:
