Wiper and True are proud to announce that we've been named ‘Brewery of the Year’ and ‘Sustainability Champions’ at the Brewers Choice Awards 2024.
The awards are given by leading industry magazine The Brewers Journal to recognise the diversity and quality of the UK craft beer and brewing scene. Breweries are judged across a range of categories by an expert panel with a combined wealth of knowledge across the brewing sector.
Our founder, Michael Wiper, comments: “We’re absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to have been named Brewery of the Year, and are very grateful to the judges for recognising our commitment to sustainability with the Sustainability Champion's award. These awards mean a huge amount to us, and give recognition to a team that’s been working so hard to achieve great things. The exciting thing for us is that we know this is just the beginning!”.
This year, we've expanded our Old Market brewery with four additional 12,000 litre tanks to meet demand for Beautiful Beer. As well as growing by 20% in Waitrose, we've launched in Sainsbury’s supermarkets and in Tesco Extra supermarkets in the South West.
We have also recently won a prestigious Great Taste Award for our flagship pale ale, 4.2% Kaleidoscope, and we launched an alcohol-free version which won gold at the World Alcohol-Free Awards 2024.
Wiper and True is very much steered by our sustainability mission, with a target of reaching Net Zero by 2030. Efforts so far include the installation of technology to allow for the capture and re-use of carbon dioxide, and covering the brewery roof in a 159kW array of solar panels.
Our Beautiful Beer is available in supermarkets across the UK, online, in independent retailers and convenience stores, and in many pubs, bars and restaurants in Bristol and beyond.
