Us

Wiper and True is a small, fast growing brewery, based in St Werburghs, Bristol. While wishing to stay relatively small, our aim is to create an international reputation for the quality of our beer.

You may have seen our distinctive branding in many of Bristol and Bath’s best bars and restaurants. We also have national distribution ranging from craft beer specialists to Michelin star restaurants and we export our beer to several countries.

The Role

You will work alongside the Directors and Managers in the business, focusing on the company’s people and culture. With a solution orientated approach to HR, you will provide strategic direction and operational support to our team. Your people strategies will promote business growth and make Wiper and True an extraordinary place to work for all. You will also work with different teams across the Company on business development.

Objectives

  • Lead the delivery of the full range of HR services including employee relations and engagement, workforce planning, recruitment, pay and reward, performance management, learning and development, health and wellbeing

  • Support in the implementation of, and add value to, business initiatives and processes, with a particular focus on compliance 


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure human resource is managed in a way that enables business objectives to be met

  • Work with the senior team on business development strategies

  • Manage all recruitment and employment processes

  • Ensure the work environment and welfare at work is optimised

  • Instil a positive culture of performance improvement throughout the organisation

  • Develop communication strategies that keep the team abreast of developments as well as the founding values and objectives

  • Play an active role in the Company’s governance and compliance, including senior meetings, GDPR, pensions etc

About you

  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to provide solutions to business challenges and needs

  • Excellent attention to detail and administrative skills, with the willingness to work at all levels in the business

  • Resilient, with strong influencing and negotiating skills

Knowledge, skills and experience


You must have:

  • Demonstrable HR Generalist experience in a role with a high level of autonomy

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding in your responses to sensitive issues

  • Proficiency in Excel/Numbers and Word/Pages


It would be good if you had:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • HR Qualifications, for example CIPD

Location: St Werburghs, Bristol with the option of some working from home.

Hours: Part time. Approximately 22 hours per week. Flexible working considered.
